High Security applications call for crash-rated bollards. When the highest level of safety and security is required, bollard designs still require flexibility and versatility to meet the needs of a structure’s purpose and environment. Calpipe Security Bollards’ Perimeter Defense Technology carries SAFETY Act Designation from the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate. The K12/M50 rated product lines are available in a wide variety of types, sizes, and styles including retractable, removable, fixed, and shallow mount versions. The K12/M50-rated products offer the highest security rating available today and can stop a 15,000-pound vehicle at a speed of 50 miles per hour. Calpipe Security Bollards' can also protect against the same 15,000lb threat vehicle in certain locations where that vehicle can only reach a maximum of 30 miles per hour with our K4/M30 rated product. Also available in a variety of types and sizes--including removable, fixed, and shallow mount versions. Shallow mount bollards are specifically designed and tested for locations within a project where typical (36" or greater) foundations are not feasible because of utilities or other underground obstructions exist. These bollards use a shallow 12” embedment. The shallow mount fixed or removable bollard is designed to protect a facility’s most valuable assets – people and property. The shallow mount bollard installation will also result in significant savings over deep mount bollards installations. These bollards are found around corporate campuses, government buildings, power and water plants, venues, and airports. When no depth restrictions exist, Deep Mount K4/M30 and K12/M50 rated fixed bollards are available at a maximum embedment of 59”. For lower threat applications, there are fixed, removable, and lighted bollards tested and certified to ASTM F3016-14. This standard addressed a 5000lb vehicle traveling at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. All Perimeter Defense Technology bollards are strictly manufactured from carbon steel. If a modern aesthetic is needed, Perimeter Defense Technology bollards can be installed with a stainless steel cover, while rated retractable bollards can be manufactured with stainless steel sheathing around the operable post.
